What Makes Us Different Makes Us Unique
I’ve always been spellbound by very exotic-looking women. Women who play up their unique features and embrace their individuality rather than conforming to the typical beauty ideal. No one exemplifies this better than Persian artist Shirin Neshat. Not only is her work striking but so is her uncommon beauty. Her trademark is her dark kohl-lined eyes and dramatic, chunky jewelry. She always stands out in a crowd.
Rather than copying Neshat’s look, which frankly wouldn’t work for most of us anyway, consider your favorite feature and draw attention to it. Maybe you have a distinct nose, sweep your hair off your face and show it off. A long slender neck is your best feature? Get a pixie cut so that the world can see it instead of hiding it under your long tresses. If you have great knees, wear a skirt that shows those knees off. You get the picture.
